On August 26, Andrés Pastrana Arango, the
38th President of Colombia, President of the Centrist Democrat International,
President of the Colombian Conservative Party and Honorary President of the
Union of Latin American Parties, led a delegation to visit Changhui’s Shanghai
company. Relevant leaders and business representatives from Shanghai Dazhong
Economic City, Chery Mojo Robot and Shanghai University of Finance and
Economics attended the event. The parties held in‑depth
exchanges on manufacturing industry’s global expansion and China‑Latin America economic and trade cooperation, and reached broad
consensus on exploring Latin‑American markets.
During the visit, Former President Pastrana personally presented the Former
President’s
Honor Medal to the enterprise’s overseas‑market development
director in recognition of Changhui’s outstanding contributions to real‑economy development and active expansion into Latin‑American markets.
At 9:00 a.m., Former President Pastrana and
his delegation arrived at Changhui Shanghai Company, where company staff and
invited guests lined up to give them a warm welcome. At the enterprise
exhibition hall, presenters gave a systematic introduction to the company’s
development history, core businesses, manufacturing capacity, domestic‑and‑overseas market layout and Latin‑America‑oriented overseas expansion plan, fully
demonstrating Changhui’s
solid foundation in manufacturing and its global‑oriented
strategy.
Subsequently, the delegation toured the
mould‑production workshop for on‑site inspection of
key procedures including full‑process mould
production, precision mould manufacturing and component finishing. Wang Song,
Deputy General Manager of Chenchang Precision Mould, delivered a comprehensive
briefing on production techniques, quality‑control standards,
equipment advantages and delivery assurance. The delegation spoke highly of
Changhui’s
technical accumulation and delivery capabilities in precision manufacturing.
Following the tour, a special government‑enterprise forum was held in the company’s meeting room. Wang
Zhengzhong, President of Shanghai Changhui Investment Management (Group) Co.,
Ltd., delivered opening remarks, extending a warm welcome to the distinguished
guests travelling from afar and paying sincere respects to leaders, experts and
scholars from Chery Mojo Robot, Shanghai Dazhong Economic City and Shanghai
University of Finance and Economics. Wang systematically outlined the
enterprise’s core strengths and overseas‑business layout,
with focused elaboration on its industrial‑going‑global strategy and implementation plans targeting Latin‑American markets. Former President Pastrana showed strong interest
in Changhui’s
Latin‑America‑focused strategy. He gave a detailed
account of Colombia’s
business environment, industrial policies, foreign‑investment incentive measures and opportunities for China‑Colombia economic‑and‑trade cooperation. Afterwards, representatives from Shanghai Dazhong
Economic City, Chery Mojo Robot and Shanghai University of Finance and
Economics joined the discussions covering regional industrial support, robotics‑industry synergy and industry‑university‑research collaboration, resulting in vibrant on‑site dialogue.
Participants held efficient deliberations
over topics including manufacturing’s overseas expansion, China‑Latin America economic‑and‑trade cooperation and follow‑up project docking,
and reached consensus on potential cooperation. Former President Pastrana
expressed strong interest in introducing Changhui’s auto‑parts business and
Chery’s AI intelligent‑robot industry into Colombia to tap new
markets. He looked forward to leveraging industrial resources and intellectual
strengths of platforms such as Shanghai Dazhong Economic City and Shanghai
University of Finance and Economics to jointly advance the delivery of China‑Latin America cooperation projects.
After the forum came the highlight of the
visit: the awarding ceremony of the Former President’s Honor Medal. Former
President Pastrana personally conferred the medal upon President Wang
Zhengzhong. The honour commended Changhui for its commitment to the real economy,
proactive deployment in Latin‑American markets and
positive role in advancing China‑Latin America
industrial and economic‑and‑trade exchanges, and
encouraged the enterprise to further expand its industrial footprint across
Latin America. At the ceremony, both sides posed for group photos to mark this
important occasion.
